In just 90 minutes, journey through the picturesque Arve Valley to reach Chamonix, the legendary alpine village nestled at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe. Your adventure begins with a spectacular cable car ride to the Aiguille du Midi. At over 3,842 meters, take in breathtaking panoramic views of the French, Swiss, and Italian Alps. “Step into the Void” is a glass skywalk, where you can stand on a glass platform with over 1,000 meters of empty space beneath you. At the summit, there is also an exhibition space that provides information about the history of the Aiguille du Midi, the cable car, and the mountaineering culture of the region.

Next, hop aboard the iconic red Montenvers train for an unforgettable trip to the Mer de Glace, France’s largest glacier. Explore the fascinating ice cave carved into the glacier and delve into the world of ice at the Glaciorium, an exhibition center dedicated to glaciers and climate change.

Finally, enjoy free time to wander through the charming village of Chamonix. Browse artisan shops, savor local specialties like fondue, or relax with a coffee while taking in the authentic mountain architecture. This excursion combines adventure, natural beauty, and culture for an unforgettable day in the heart of the Alps.

Why choose the Chamonix Mont-Blanc tour?

This trip is designed for those who want to experience the majesty of Mont Blanc and a high-altitude adventure that covers the highlights of the French Alps in a single day. It offers a perfectly timed route including the Aiguille du Midi cable car, the Mer de Glace mountain train, the Ice Cave, and Chamonix village.

Is the Chamonix tour suitable for children and seniors?

This tour is suitable for families, children, and seniors. However, due to high altitudes at the Aiguille du Midi (3,842m), children under 5 years old are not allowed to ascend the cable car. Also those with heart conditions or altitude sensitivity should consult a doctor before traveling.

What should I bring for a day in the French Alps? Because you will be ascending to high altitudes where temperatures are significantly lower than in the valley, we recommend bringing:

  • Warm layers: Even in mid-summer, it can be freezing at the summit.
  • Sunglasses and Sunscreen.
  • Your Passport: Since Chamonix is located in France, a valid ID or passport is required.

What is the difference between the 08:00, 10:00, and 12:00 departures?

The timing of your departure determines the level of service provided:

  • 08:00 Departure:  A Fully Guided experience with an expert guide from start to finish.
  • 10:00 & 12:00 Departures: These are Self-Guided tours. We provide the transport and tickets to the main attractions, but you will organize your visit independently. For these departures, we recommend starting with the cable car followed by the mountain train.

What is the  difference between your Fully Guided and Semi Guided  tours?

Fully Guided: Expert commentary on the bus and at the sites. Semi-Guided: Guide on the bus for orientation; independent exploration at the site. Self-Guided: You receive maps, tickets and instructions at our office and explore at your own pace.

What happens if the cable car or train is closed due to bad weather?

The Aiguille du Midi cable car may occasionally close due to adverse weather conditions. In such cases, we provide access to alternative cable cars as a replacement. Because an alternative is offered, refunds are not available. If no alternatives are accessible, a partial refund may be granted; however, please note that transportation fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.
